Laser Hair Removal for Men

More and more men are discovering the benefits of mens laser hair removal. This safe and effective non-invasive treatment can be used to remove unwanted hair from the face, chest, back, and other areas of the body. Laser hair removal works by targeting the pigment in the hair follicle with a high-intensity light beam. The light energy is absorbed by the pigment and converted into heat, which destroys the hair follicle. The result is smooth, well-defined skin that is free of unwanted hair. Not only is laser hair removal less painful than other methods of hair removal, but it also delivers long-lasting results.

For best results, most men need between 4 and 8 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Schedule a consultation today to see how we can help you achieve your goals.

What You Need to Know About Mens Laser Hair Removal

If you're considering laser hair removal, there are a few things you should know before you get started. Here's what to expect before and after the procedure, and how to make sure you get the most out of your treatment.

  • Before Your Session

Here's what you should do before your appointment:

    • Thoroughly shave the treatment area (use a razor) the night before - AM appointments or in the morning before - PM appointments. The hair has to be shaved in order to avoid the absorption of the light by the hair laying on the skin - to eliminate the "tiny pinpricks" sensation/pain and provide better results as well.

    • Thoroughly remove make-up, cremes, perfumes and deodorants.

    • Cease any excessive sun exposure or a solarium for 4 to 8 weeks prior to treatment.

    • No tanning products for 2 weeks prior to treatment.

    • No competing methods like plucking, waxing, or needle electrolysis 4  weeks before the treatment.

    • Notify staff of any medications you are currently taking to determine if they are photosensitive.

The laser hair removal treatment itself only takes a few minutes. You may feel a slight snapping sensation as the laser beam passes over your skin, but this is typically not described as painful. Most patients report feeling only minor discomfort during their treatment.

  • After Your Session

It's important to treat the area with care for some time after your session. Here's what you should keep in mind:

    • Cool the treatment area as long as it is pleasant

    • The treatment area must be protected from exposure to sunlight and irradiation in a solarium.

    • After the treatment redness of the skin, swelling or small crusts are normal.

    • No perfume, lotions or makeup 24 hours after treatment, except mineral make-up (Please avoid using cosmetics with scents in the treated area for 2 months).

    • Use hypoallergenic SPF30 sunblock for protection in treated areas and apply liberally and often.

    • No excessive exercise that will cause profuse sweating for 24-48 hours post-treatment.

    • No hot baths or showers for 24 hours post-treatment.

If you have any questions or concerns about laser hair removal, please don't hesitate to speak with your technician prior to treatment.

  • How many treatments will I need for Hair Removal?

6 treatments, 4-6 weeks apart is recommended for permanent results. It is based on hair growth cycles and clinical studies.

  • When will I see some results?

Approximately 30-80% reduction of hair per treatment.

  • Are the hair removal treatments painful?

With the SmoothPulse mode, it makes the laser pulse sensation almost unnoticeable, even for sensitive patients. Due to the optimum design of the MeDioStar lasers, side effects of more than slight redness and swelling around dark hair are very rare.
